Wildlife watching itself is a pleasure in India. The choices are immense and compelling. Just imagine going for a wildlife safari and searching for tigers sitting on the back of a big tusker. Most of the wildlife sanctuaries in India have facilities for wildlife watching and bird watching on jeeps, special buses, elephants, cycles, and using other vehicles.

Bandhavgarh Bandhavgarh
The park is in the heart of the Vindhyachal ranges. The forest, tree-covered hills, archaeological remains and a variety of wildlife make the park an enchanting place. The 14th century Bandhavgarh Fort and pre-historic caves with inscriptions are amazing here. Its steep cliffs, rocky hills covered with 44884 hectare of dense sal and bamboo forests make it an ideal terrain for tigers. Other animals found here are the blue bull, panther, wild boar, gaur, chital, sambar, chinkara, barking deer, bear etc. The avian life consist of the paradise fly- catcher, Malabar pied hornbill and the orange-headed ground thrush etc.

Kanha Kanha
The Kanha National park is one of the many fascinating natural destinations of Madhya Pradesh. It was registered as a national park in the year 1955 and dedicated to the preservation of endangered and rare species. The picturesque Park area, its innumerable wildlife and wonderful flora make it a favourite destination of the nature lovers. According to the records, the Kanha National Park is also the sole inspiration behind Rudyard Kipling/'s unforgettable classic The Jungle Book. The romance, as depicted in the book, can still be seen in the park here. The grassy meadows, thick greens, chirping of endless number of birds and grazing of the swamp deer, sambhar and chital will definitely make you forget the world outside.

Ranthambore Ranthambore
Sawai Madhopur is the entry point to Ranthambore and is an important town with its own historicity. Ranthambore has been a witness to the rise and fall of many rulers and a series of battle scenes. Remnants of marvelous architectural monuments, ponds and lakes enlighten avid lovers of the subject. There are various places of historical interest inside the fort. The Ganesha temple is a major attraction of the Fort. The region around Sawai Madhopur is thick with remnants of its part history. Walls, wells, mosques and hunting lodges adorn the lush rolling hills of the Vindhyas and the Aravalis.

Nagarhole Nagarhole
If you are planning a getaway, go to Nagarhole. Apart from seeing the vast variety of wildlife, the sanctuary also gives you the much needed break amidst the lush and rich flora and fauna here. Nagarhole is considered to be the finest tiger reserve in India. The name Nagarhole has been derived from the two Kannada words 'Nagar' meaning snake and 'hole' meaning stream. As the name suggests, there are quite a few serpentine streams that flow through the rich tropical forests of the park. Established as a National Park in 1955, its area was expanded in the year 1975. The park is also named as Rajiv Gandhi National Park in memory of the former Prime Minister of India

Jim Corbett National Park Jim Corbett National Park
A primal jungle, as Rudyard Kipling puts it, Corbett National Park is a part of the Nainital and Pauri Garhwal districts in the state of Uttaranchal. The park has managed to retain its primeval ambiance, where man must walk timorously, in awe and with a strong sense of his own insignificance. This is a no mean an achievement with the increasing number of tourists visiting the park. Corbett is the first national park of India and was first delimited in consultation with Jim Corbett, the great hunter and wildlife conserver. The park has grown considerably in its 64 years of eventful history. (The Tiger Reserve is open from mid-November to mid-June).
